My Family Summer Camp is a private, award-winning Spanish immersion camp that began as a family project in our home in 2003. Throughout the years, it has grown into an experience our children look forward to every summer. We are a family of educators faced with the same struggle we are sure many of you face: encouraging our children to learn and speak Spanish in an engaging and fun way.
Spanish Immersion camp
A day at camp
Our day begins with a general assembly where we introduce cultural and interesting facts about the week's wonder of the world. Campers will actively participate by dancing, singing songs, and playing games tailored specifically for different age groups.
After an hour of assembly, campers are separated by grade and go to their classrooms to have a snack. Afterwards, the children participate in games and activities in Spanish designed to encourage their verbal interaction. Each session will have a specific theme that will, without a doubt, engage your child and motivate communication in Spanish.
After this formal session, they will go to the playground to participate in outdoor games from various Latin-American countries until lunch time.
Our camp provides a hot, healthy and delicious lunch included in the weekly price.
Following lunch, pre-school campers will have a 30-min. rest/nap time while watching a video in Spanish and the rest of our campers will participate in arts and crafts activities.
After that, campers will have other 45 minutes of Spanish instruction through songs, poems and storytelling followed by an hour of an outdoor sport. Campers in first grade and older will be able to go on field trips on Fridays, while pre-school campers will participate in fun festival-like activities on campus.
We are looking forward to sharing all these activities with your child this summer,
Marta Trujillo-Galbis and family
