My Family Summer Camp is a private, award-winning Spanish camp that began as a family project in our home in 2003. Throughout the years, it has grown into an experience our children look forward to every summer. We are a family of educators faced with the same struggle we are sure many of you face: encouraging our children to learn and speak Spanish in an engaging and fun way.

Spanish Enrichment Camp

A Snapshot of Our Day at Camp

Upon arrival, our campers go to their designated small group room, where they can play at their leisure with their friends in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Around 9:30, all campers meet at our general assembly. “La Asamblea” is an eagerly-anticipated event for both campers and staff. This is the time when activity leaders introduce cultural and interesting facts about the country of the week. Campers actively participate in trivia games, talent shows, singing, and dancing.

After the assembly, campers play outdoors and are introduced to folkloric Latin American games. Upon returning to their small groups, campers engage in a fun Spanish-learning experience designed to encourage their verbal interaction. Each session will have a specific theme that will, without a doubt, inspire your child and motivate communication in Spanish.

Once the lesson is over, each camper is provided a hot, healthy and delicious lunch, which is included in the weekly price. After lunch, preschool campers have a 30-minute “nap time” or resting period, accompanied by Spanish-themed entertainment. Nap time is followed by a Spanish session tailored to their age.

Campers in groups K and up alternate between physical education and a Spanish session based on arts and crafts, reading, acting or singing. These older campers will be able to go on field trips on Fridays, while pre-school campers will participate in fun festival-like activities on campgrounds.

We are looking forward to sharing all these activities with your child this summer.

Hasta pronto,

Marta Trujillo and family
